            GENTEEL RUN 2019
           Blue Lias to The Barn
On Sunday September 22, 8 riders met at the blue Lias pub, Stockton near Long Itchington. The bikes ranged from a 1912 Bradbury covering most decades to a modern trail bike.
The weather was dry as we set off along little used lanes. Chairman Dave Kendall leading on his 1930’s Cotton which was surprisingly lively, followed by me( Barry ) on a newly acquired 1963 Tiger 90.  Then followed a BSA B40 in army trim a Honda Benley, model H triumph, the Bradbury, the trail bike and bringing up the rear a 1960 Triumph speedtwin ridden by Simon Dudfield.
The meandering 20 odd mile route took us through charming villages, a gated road over cattle grids, between farm buildings and alongside a field of sweetcorn as tall as us.
After an hour or so riding we arrived at our destination, a brewery! A small one in a rural setting which has expanded into a very nice cafe/ restaurant with great views and a large carpark. The weather remained dry.
However after a coffee I left and the heavens opened! But at least we enjoyed a dry run to our destination. Thanks to chairman Dave for organising the event and to The Barn for putting up with us.
