The Breakfast Run 14th June 2015.

How can two weekends be so different, last weekend, for the Kenilworth Run, we had wall to wall sunshine today we got up to a grey miserable day that was colder than the Spring Run at the beginning of April.

The run started from the lay-by on the A429 just off the M40, island, 6.30am for 7.00am start, where nine members turned out with one non member turning up at the recommendation of David Sketchley, 40% of the riders were on vintage machines, Simon Dudfield 1927 AJS, Derek Morris 1928 Matchless, Frank Parker 1929 Panther and Harry Wiles 1929 Sunbeam.

The route which was planned by Fran Wiles last year took the riders through Sherbourne to Wellesbourne on through Walton to the A422 and up Sunrising Hill. From there they headed over Edge Hill and on to Cropredy and Claydon, skirting a few villages until they came to Napton, then on to Hunningham and finally Princethorpe finishing at the Three Horse Shoes Public House for breakfast where the riders were glad to get their hands on a hot cup of coffee to warm up some rather cold fingers after a total of 54 rather cool miles.

Our thanks go to Fran Wiles for the route, Harry Wiles for the organisation and report and Alan Bailey for the photos.
Special thanks go to our hosts at the Three Horse Shoes, Ann and Geoff for a warm welcome and a superb breakfast.
