Social Run to the Friendly Inn at Frankton 25th May 2014.

Following a few days of wet weather the day tuned out cloudy but dry, by the time we left home the sun was shining, although there were some very heavy clouds hanging about we took a chance and set off with no hood on the 1934 BSA trike.

Our social gathering is a get together at the Friendly Inn Frankton with everyone finding their own way there following a route as long or as short as they choose. Possibly due to the very heavy and prolonged rain we had experienced the day before and with the forecast of some heavy showers on the day we did not have such a good turn out as last year with just 13 bikes and my trike in attendance.

The village locals and patrons at the pub greeted us with enthusiasm and took a keen interest in the machines. Most of us went in for a very nice Sunday lunch and as the weather was still dry when we came out we were in no hurry to leave, as it happened the rain forecast for early afternoon did not materialise and I believe everyone got home in the dry.

Our thanks go to Frank Parker for organising the day, our hosts Nigel and Deb and the staff at the Friendly Inn for a warm welcome and a splendid lunch.
Our belated congratulations go to Nigel and Deb for their marriage in April.
