Mick and Franks Social 3rd June 2014.

The day started off sunny so we had high hopes for the evening despite the forecast of rain unfortunately the forecast proved correct and the rain started around 4.30pm so it was in to the garage and once again the hood went back on to the trike.
Mick and Franks social is run on similar lines to the other socials we have where members make their own way to the venue, this one being Bishop’s Tachbrook Sports and Social Club, for a friendly get together this one having a buffet.

We live 20 miles away so by the time we got there at 7.00pm the rain had stopped and there were three bikes already there, with more rain forecast we did not expect too many bikes and were proven right when the final number turned out to be just 7 bikes and two BSA trikes, the oldest bike being the 1925 Rudge belonging to Gary Hoyle.
As it happened the rain we were promised did not materialise although it was quite cold for June, despite this John and Judith Lycett turned up in their BSA trike with the hood down, I was not tempted to remove the hood from mine as living 20 miles away I was not sure what the weather would be like going home.
A large number of people turned out by car as can be seen from the photo of them queuing for the buffet. Despite the weather a very enjoyable evening was had by all.
Our thanks go to our hosts at the Club and Julia Jaggard and Helen Parker for the buffet.

Report and photos by Harry Wiles.
