The Race Retro Show 2012

The Section was well represented at the Race Retro show on 27/28/29 February, ranging from Alan Bailey’s 1928 Ariel Model E, Dave Mac’s 1932 350 Rudge TT Replica, Rob Thomas’ 1938 Model 50 Norton, a second Rudge of Dave Mac’s – a 1939 250 Service Model, then post war, Glenn Hughes 1951 Sunbeam S7, Barrie Hall's  1954 Triumph T100, Gordon Smith's Moto Guzzi Lodola Tony Harts’ 1964 Triton and a 1974 Triumph which a friend of Ron Robinson had brought along as his own machine was out of action.

Brian Glover on the Honda

On Saturday and Sunday we were treated to a number of racing and sprint machines being fired up within earshot of the stand. Most of these were Honda racing replicas but we heard a couple of Norton’s run, a Manx and a Rotary which spat flames from it’s exhaust on the overrun. The noisiest was the sprint machine as you can see from nearby spectators covering their ears!

Our thanks to Dave Kendal for organising the stand.
