The Warwickshire Section Spring Run 2011.
On a bright but cool Mothers Day morning 31 bikes, ranging from a 1927 AJS to a pair of very smart Suzuki Kettles assembled at the Kenilworth Rugby club for the start of our Spring Run with four intrepid females and one young man as pillion passengers and another lady in the passenger seat of a BSA three wheeler.
We set off riding through the villages of Stoenleigh, Bagington, Kings Newham, Pailton and Monks Kirby before entering Leicestershire, on through Ashby Parva, Gilmorton, past Stanford Hall where Founders Day is held and into Northamptonshire.
Still travelling in cool sunshine we went on through Crick, Welton and finally back into Warwickshire finishing at the Willoughby Café some 50 plus miles later for a well earned lunchtime all day breakfast.
With the blossom on the trees and the sun shinning pretty much all the way we were blessed with some wonderful scenery, we were very lucky as the weather turned later in the day although I think everyone got home before the rain came.
Our thanks go to Martyn Roberts for a superb route and the staff at the Willoughby Café for their hospitality.
