The Kenilworth Run 5th June 2011.
On a bright sunny morning twenty three machines with riders and half a dozen passengers assembled at the lay-by at the bottom of Hatton Hill. A 56 mile run through Warwickshire and Gloucestershire lay before them finishing at Hatton Country World.
The circular route took in parts of the Vale of Evesham and the north end of the Cotswolds with some stunning views, pretty villages and narrow country lanes en-route.
The finish at Hatton Country World coincided with a Porsche rally and quite a few visitors took time to inspect the motorcycles as well as the cars.
Our thanks go to John and Ann Heywood for organising the event and Hatton Country World for allowing us to fence off part of their car park on what was a busy day for them.
This is the last Kenilworth Run that will be organised by John and Ann. After ten years they feel that it is time for someone else to bring a fresh approach to the run and we look forward to see what that will be.
At the start of the run Harry expressed the Section’s thanks to John and Ann and encouraged the riders present to consider whether they could be the one to take the run forward in 2012. This bore fruit as at our Club night the following Wednesday Dave Sketchley and Rob Payne volunteered to take the event on, our thanks go to them.
