The Warwickshire Section of the VMCC is a group of sociable, like minded people with an interest in 2 & 3 wheeled vehicles that are over 25 years old. The Section members organise runs predominately on a Sunday from April through to October with a run on Boxing Day. The average run is about 50 miles with a lunch stop on route. The Section celebrates its 50th Anniversary in October 2015.
We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at Kenilworth Rugby Football Club Glasshouse Lane Kenilworth CV8 2AJ. Most meetings start at 8.00pm with a formal meeting followed by a speaker, the exception being the June, March, October and December meetings which all start at 7.30pm. Multimap Link
The next meeting is on December 14th and will be a DVD evening at the Kenilworth Rugby Club where there will be mince pies and nibbles on the tables, the raffle tickets for this meeting will be £2.00 each.
I have received an email from the Royal British Legion Riders telling me of their ride in this year, below is an extract from it, I suggest we can make a collection on our December club night that I will take to them for their ride in which is on December 17th leaving the Long Itchington Diner at 1.15pm. If you would like to join the ride in you will be made most welcome.
This Christmas the Warwickshire branch of the Riders Branch of the Royal British Legion (RBLR) are organising a Christmas Present Run in support of the Galanos House Care Home in Southam. Located on the Banbury Road on the edge of Southam, the care home is exclusive to ex-service personnel and their dependents. It is funded by the Royal British Legion and is the Legion’s only care home in the Midlands. There are sixty bedrooms and thirty specialist beds in a dedicated dementia unit and residents are cared for by experienced nurses and dedicated care assistants 24 hours a day.
The Christmas Present Run will take gifts to the residents of Galanos House and the RBLR has suggested that donations of toiletries such as shampoo, bath and shower gel, deodorants soap and shaving foam would benefit the residents the most. Donations make an enormous difference to the residents as the money saved on providing toiletries can be spent on improving the quality of their lives in other areas.
They would happily take other items as well of course. Presents do not need to be wrapped as the staff will need to check the items against individuals needs to ensure that the right items end up going to the right residents.
Our next events are:
